Bedtime gets a lot easier when there's a sky full of stars waiting.

Sleepy Saturn is a tiny USB projector that fills a dark bedroom ceiling with stars, the Moon, Saturn and the Milky Way. Your little one picks tonight's sky, you tap it on, bend the neck towards the ceiling, twist to focus and switch off the big light.

  • 6 films (Starter) or all 24 films in a storage case (Deluxe)
  • Tap once for a warm night light, again for the starry sky, again for off
  • Press and hold to dim or brighten
  • Bendy 30 cm neck aims at the ceiling, a wall or a corner
  • USB powered: any phone charger plug, power bank or laptop (wall plug not included)

Getting the best sky: use it in a fully dark room, aimed at a plain light ceiling 2–3 metres away, and twist the head to focus. It's a small projector, so the image is softer than a big planetarium, and the scenes are soft white light rather than multicolour.

Specs: 66 × 43 mm projector · about 30 cm neck · USB 5V · slide-in film drawer.

In the box: 1 projector plus 6 films (Starter) or 24 films in a clear case (Deluxe). The 2-pack has 2 projectors and 48 films.

Safety: this is a night light, not a toy. An adult should set it up and place it out of reach of young children, with the cable kept away from cots and beds. Not for children under 3 to handle.

✨ Getting the best sky

It's a small, soft-focus projector. It gives a dreamy glow rather than a sharp, planetarium-style image. For the best result:

  • Use it in a fully dark room: the darker, the brighter the stars.
  • Aim it at a plain, light-coloured ceiling about 2–3 metres away.
  • Twist the projector head until the picture looks sharp.

Questions parents ask

Can't see yours? Email us at hello@sleepysaturn.com and we'll reply within 24 hours.

Does it come with a plug?

It has a USB connector built in. Plug it into any standard USB phone charger plug, a power bank or a laptop. Most homes already have a spare USB plug; one isn't included in the box.

How big and how clear is the projection?

It's designed for a ceiling or wall about 2–3 metres away. Twist the projector head to focus. It's a small projector, so the image is softer than a cinema projector. The projection is soft white starlight rather than multicolour. It looks best in a completely dark room on a plain, light-coloured ceiling.

Is it suitable for children's rooms?

Yes, it's a low-voltage USB night light that runs on 5V. It's a night light, not a toy: an adult should set it up and place it out of reach of small children, and keep the cable tidy and away from cots. Not suitable for children under 3 to handle.

Does it get hot?

It uses an LED, so it stays only slightly warm to the touch during use. As with any electrical product, place it on a stable surface with space around it and don't cover it.

Can it work as a plain night light?

Yes. Tap once for a soft warm night light, tap again for the starry sky, and tap a third time to switch off. Press and hold to dim or brighten.

How do the films work?

Each scene is on a slim film slide. Slide it into the drawer on the side, twist the head to focus, and you're done. Starter comes with 6 films; Deluxe comes with 24 in their own case so they don't get lost.

Is the projection in colour?

No. The scenes are projected in soft white light (stars, the Moon, Saturn, the Milky Way), like the real photo on this page.

Does it have a timer or switch off by itself?

It stays on while it's powered. For automatic switch-off, plug it into a USB plug with a timer, or a smart plug.

How long does delivery take?

Tracked delivery takes 4–8 working days to most UK addresses. You'll get a tracking link by email. For Christmas, order by 10 December.

What if we don't love it?

You have 30 days from delivery to return it for a full refund. If it arrives damaged or faulty, we'll replace or refund it, no need to send it back. See our Refund Policy for details.

Can we use it in the car?

Yes, it plugs into a car USB port and projects onto the roof lining. Only use it when parked, or for passengers, and never in a way that distracts the driver.
